Newsletter Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

DaveNextWorks, Hungary, is responsible for the processing described in this notice. You can contact us about privacy or newsletter matters at [email protected].

2. Data we process

When you subscribe, we process:

• Your email address.
• Your selected newsletter topic.
• Your subscription status and related subscription events.
• Your IP address temporarily for abuse prevention and rate limiting. It is held only in the memory of the active server process and is not added to our newsletter list.

MailerLite may also process technical delivery, opening, clicking, and unsubscribe events when the relevant email tracking features are enabled.

3. Purpose and legal basis

We use your email address and selected topic to send marketing emails, development logs, playtest opportunities, and updates about our games, applications, and studio. The legal basis is your freely given consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We process limited technical information to prevent automated abuse and protect our newsletter service. Our legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in maintaining the security and availability of the service under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

4. MailerLite

We use MailerLite to manage our subscriber lists and send newsletter emails. MailerLite processes subscriber data on our behalf as a service provider. MailerLite states that its data storage center is located in the European Union and holds ISO 27001 certification.

5. Retention and deletion

We retain your email address while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, you will stop receiving newsletter emails. MailerLite may retain an unsubscribed record so that your opt-out continues to be respected.

You may ask us to permanently erase your subscriber data. For an eligible erasure request, we will use MailerLite's Forget function, which MailerLite states completes permanent deletion within 30 days. We may retain limited information where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

6. Your rights

Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• Request erasure or restriction of processing.
• Receive certain personal data in a portable format.
• Object to direct marketing and certain other processing.
• Withdraw your consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
• Lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority.

In Hungary, the supervisory authority is the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH). You can also contact the supervisory authority in your country of residence or work.

7. Withdrawing consent

You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter or by emailing [email protected]. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
